Making friends

I am so glad to be here! Most (all) of the people I know in "real life" know nothing whatsoever about poetry.  It is such a joy to have found Poetry Soup!  I live in the Appalachain foothills (born & bred) and nature is my biggest inspiration.  I am blessed to live among its beauty.  Don't get my wrong; the poets are here.  We just never seem to find a way to be together because we don't know about each other.  I am excited about making new friends here and coming together as poets.

Great to meet you, too!  I'm in southern Ohio, way southern Ohio, in the borderlands of West Virginia & Kentucky.  Right on the Ohio River.  Glad you are here!

Re: Making friends

Hi jane,

Got your message, yea, I used to have all of their works, but over the years, I 've managed to lose them, by loaning them out and never getting them back, guess they were never really mind to keep, just as well, cause now I have friends like you to return them in a special sort of way. I look forward to the selections that you send.  I would love to see the Appalachain's some day, being the nature nut that I am. I myself was born and raised  a ways south of Nashville, but now I live, with my girlfriernd, in the quaint little town of Loves Park ,Illinois. Which is just shy of  Wisconsin and the cheese factory I love so much. I am a confirmed cheese and a chocolate addict. There are many poet types here, however, I have a problem with reading my own work in front ofd others; it's a lot easier to just put it on line and hide away in the background. On another side, I got my Rose bush planted today; it will be interesting to see, if we get these red fragrant blooms that its supposed to produce. I will be taking great care to help it along as much as I can. I love flowers as much as I love Butterflies!! "I AM VERTICAL" is one of Ms. Plaith's poems that I'm really fond of , in that it bridges the gap between us and nature in a desirable sort of way. (I hope that makes sense) Sometimes I can go off on a tangent and leave others confused and scratching their heads. Guess I should get back to the old drawing board and conjure up some poetic endeavors of my own , Huh?!

Look forward to hearing from you and reading your latest works, on the World Forum!!!

Peace and Joy to you DEAR HEART!!!!

MAC

G'day Jane.  I live in Bargara, Queensland, Australia and write bush verse and ballads in the tradition of Henry Lawson and Banjo Paterson.

The Australian Bush Poets Association defines bush poetry as rhyming verse with regular meter and true rhyme, about Australia, it's places, things, people and way of life.

Performance poetry has become very popular at many festivals these days and many kick off the day with a bush poet's brekky.

Kalo Mina to you, too, Poeticslave!  I have learned something this morning.  A day is not done until something is learned, be it big or small!  I look forward to reading your poetry as well.  I imagine Greece is awesome and just packed with beauty.
