The Craft
You seduce with jewelry;
I do it writing poetry.
Mindless of art and detail,
both truly in the end
hold different and yet vital
subterfuged flaws
numb behind masks
of hypnotic beauty;
wrought by a setting
you bathed in glitter
or words so defined
by my inspired pen.
Hidden;
they seek only to last
no short of forever.
Yours will by sheer fact,
mine by luck’s wrath.
One can never really know where the beauty of poetry or jewels may wander to, I consider myself "gifted" to be able to gaze on such treasures and be awed, though I profess that shall never truely own either. A well-done poetic achievement, isis277. I love the way that you have blended the comparison of two different entities of seduction, and then lock it down with that well-rounded couplet at the end. Kudos!!!
